German Black Forest-Inspired Cake

Chocolate layer cake with cherries and whipped cream.

Ingredients

• 2 cups flour
• 2 cups sugar
• 3/4 cup cocoa
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 2 eggs
• 1 cup milk
• 1/2 cup oil
• 1 cup hot coffee
• 2 cups cherries
• 3 cups whipped cream

Directions

1. Bake chocolate cake batter in two 9-inch pans at 350°F until done.
2. Cool completely.
3. Layer cake with cherries and whipped cream.
4. Finish top with more cream and cherries.
5. Chill before slicing.
