Polish Christmas Mushroom Cabbage Bake

A festive cabbage-and-mushroom casserole with onions, herbs, and a crisp breadcrumb top.

Ingredients

• 1 small green cabbage, shredded
• 1 pound mushrooms, sliced
• 1 onion, chopped
• 3 tablespoons butter
• 1 cup vegetable broth
• 1/2 cup sour cream
• 1 cup breadcrumbs
• 1 teaspoon marjoram

Directions

1. Cook cabbage in simmering salted water until just tender and drain.
2. Sauté mushrooms and onion in butter until browned.
3. Combine cabbage, mushrooms, broth, sour cream, and marjoram.
4. Transfer to a baking dish and top with breadcrumbs.
5. Bake at 375°F for 35 to 40 minutes.
